Good news though, my MRI from yesterday was unremarkable. That is cause for celebrating.
Now we just have to sort out my bloods and perhaps increase my anticonvulsants again. Just after they started the second unit of blood, I had a complex partial seizure affecting the left side of my face and neck. It lasted a few minutes, was bloody scary (terrifying, especially when one nurse said I was having an anaphylactic reaction - I wasn't), but at least I didn't lose consciousness this time, and wasn't confused afterwards. Now I'm thinking that the metallic taste in my mouth over the last few days may have been an aura (a sign that a seizure is coming on). Sleep deprivation wouldn't have helped.
Speaking of which, I'd better get some now. I'm in a four bed ward, not sure how well my neighbours will sleep
Wishing you all the best for 2014
